My favorite annual event to host is our Adventures in Hangovers Party that happens every year on New Year’s Day. If a small bar like Kobalt can achieve fundraising successes like we have then the much bigger establishments can achieve comparable results as well. We are all vested here so this is a motivator for others to follow. It feels good to do it and it is truly meant to give back to our community. Winning isn’t the goal when it comes to fundraising for me. Kobalt is known for its karaoke but we are more than just a bar. We’d love to hear more about your business. We take care of them and they take care of us. In return, our customers keep coming back. We do our best to be welcoming and empathetic. The work culture we’ve created here extends to our patrons. Like most families we have our ups and downs but in the end, we have a common goal: to succeed. We have all become friends and take care of each other. Whereas several bars have a high rate of turnover, most of my bar staff have been here five years or more. A big part of our staying power is my staff. We will be celebrating 12 years in business in 2018.

Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Our signature “Happy Hour Hotspot” Fridays is the place to kick off your weekends with one of the most diverse crowds in the community. With our daily drink specials, and friendly staff every day and night is a good time to stop in. Our goal is the have a place to go any day of the week. Located in the heart of central Phoenix, Kobalt sits inside Park Central open air mall. With its blend of neighborhood bar and trendy without the “tude” feel, Kobalt has filled a niche long needed in the Phoenix community. Kobalt opened its doors in the fall of 2006 and has never looked back. Always raising the bar with unique and trendy setting events and theme nights, Kobalt is also just the right place to meet friends or just chill. Kobalt is the premier karaoke bar in central Phoenix but so much more! Our theme nights, local entertainment and special events have become community traditions. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. I give myself willingly to your libations.Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffery Perales.

If I thought G &D was going to tilt the scales in favor of being a lush, it has nothing on the grasp of Kobalt. The fact I can seriously walk there from my office is just icing on the cake. So far, I’ve not been disappointed in the drinks. Kobalt is a great location for the after-work wind down that makes us all pleasant people once we walk through the front door at home, and I’m not ashamed to admit that it’s a result of Kobalt that I’ve been excessively receptive at home when I would otherwise be skulking from a tedious day in the office. After those hours expire, however, I’m fair game. But, alas, I must be responsible and keep a clear mind so the other bankers will hate me for being a bitch about silly bank policies and regulations instead of thinking I’m just a sloppy drunk, so I refrain from visiting Kobalt during business hours. If I wasn’t expected to focus on auditing CIP for new accounts, this would be my lunch destination every day. Perhaps the best part of accepting my promotion at work 2 weeks ago was it brought me that much closer to Kobalt and their wicked martinis.

Check them out, I am sure you will have fun too. I think I remember doing karaōke here one night, I was a little more than buzzed at the time so its a little fuzzy. We have always had a good time here though. Kobalt is 50⁄ 50 for me, 50% good and enjoyable and 50% needs some work. Also, it is nice it being a mostly guy bar, that a straight couple can wonder in and not feel uncomfortable. It is nice to see another bar like the one I work at that is tucked in the back and you wouldn’t know it was there unless you knew it was there. The patio twinkle lights are either burned out or turned off, if you just drove by you would think they were closed, until you hear the laughs and cackles coming from the bar. Every time we stop by the place looks closed. The atmosphere is pretty cool, nothing too exciting, the patio furniture could use a face lift, their drink prices are very attractive, and the bathrooms are clean. after work or with some friends after they get off work. I have wondered into the Kobalt bar a handful over times, usually around 1a.m.
